| Softknit merino blend knitwear was developed by Elegant Knitting Co. in co-operation with the Australian
Woolmark Company to capture the benefits of merino wool and be fully machine washable and tumble dry.
After extensive trials, Softknit is now arguably the best school knitwear available and worn by a number of prestigious colleges.
Although, there are a number if imitations to Softknit, only Softknit has a special twist in the yarn to ensure machine washability. Most importantly, Softknit
garments have a knit stitch density almost 20% greater than standard school knitwear. This greatly ensures improved wear and performance. Plus, all Softknit
sweaters have our unique basque and cuff reinforcement for long lasting shape retention.
Any existing school sweater can be replaced with a Softknit sweater. Existing designs and colours can be readily matched and precisely reproduced so that the
benefits of Softknit can be experienced without difficulty. If needed, our design team will gladly create a new design to update your present garments. Many
schools are now incorporating newer stylings from elegant cabled sweaters for senior years through to side split tunics and co-ordinating scarves.
